A few hours escape late morning early
afternoon from shopping, Santa and Frozen. Well not frozen really because Coal
Lane, Plantation Track and the North end path at Ogden were bottle ice.
Soil Hill.
A beautiful
sunny morning up here, with a cold westerly breeze, but a sad lack of bird life,
as I traversed the hill via the contour path. Only a Common Gull and a few Crow
were seen. Looking down towards the plantation 12 Canada Geese in the fields
near the pond.
Coming off
the hill onto Ned Hill Track 3 Partridge flushed and immediately disappeared so
can’t say much about them.
In the plantation
area quite a few Blackbird feeding with 2 Pheasant.
Ogden.
A bit strapped
for time now but there were lots of Robin about, a few Goldcrest and the usual Great, Blue & Coal Tit
congregation. 7 LTT were feeding together in trees near the promenade.
A Cormorant on the Res. podium.
A Kestrel
seen > Soil Hill while waiting for a lift home.
Enjoyable
walk on a lovely day with some ice-skating thrown in.
Icy, icy, icy
