We
went to the Golden Hind fish restaurant, with Ray & Tina, for lunch this aft. The Golden
Hind serves the best fish in Yorkshire in my humble opinion.
While the ladies perused the shops we had a
saunter along the tow path for an hour or so.
The
wet and very windy weather in Bradshaw this morning, had changed to bright
skies with a little breeze, here in Brighouse this aft.
Canal
13:35
Birds:-
A few Canada Geese were on the canal with a large
flock feeding in the fields behind the lock keeper’s cottage.
3 Tufted Duck
(2 Drakes) were on the fishing lake. A Heron flew over and, as far as I could
tell, the usual small gulls were on the larger water ski lake.
A Cygnet was on the canal looking somewhat forlorn.
We had a very quick squint at the lagoon, from near the towpath, but nothing of interest presented itself.
On the return journey a Woodpigeon was sitting fluffed up in
a tree and a Grey Wagtail went overhead. A Coot had appeared on the fishing lake
as we passed a second time
The river is very swollen , the spot were I normally
see Goosander resting, had disappeared under the water.
A pair of Collard Dove were in the trees by the car
park.
Oh dear mummy, you seemed to have put a stone on over Christmas!
Heron being plagued by a gull
The river looking very full
For all of you that remember the ad.
"And all because the lady loves Milk Tray"
Allus a bit calmer in Brighus.
