Saltaire

For a welcome break from Bradshaw’s very windy weather we had a stroll at Saltaire. Along the river and returning on the canal with a lunch stop for a roast beef sarnie at the Boathouse Inn on the river. An enjoyable few hours.
The weather was exceptionally kind, the rain made an appearance during the drive there and the drive back, but was mostly absent during our stroll.

Birds:

2 Mute Swan, Goldfinch, c12 Mistle Thrush with a few Redwing.
Mallard, Robin, Wren, Treecreeper, Grey Heron, Moorhen, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Woodpigeon.
A large flock of C60 Canada Geese in the fields behind the boathouse with 2 Canada Geese and a Greylag near the river by the park. A large contingent of small gulls (mainly BHG) on the river opposite the pub.

Some noisy House Sparrow in the trees near the river.

  1. Nice area, we used to take the girls on a rowing boat from the boat house cafe but that was over 20 yr ago. Lynda used to sit on the banking because she,s scared of boats.
