The enigmatic Soil Hill.

A busy morning.

After a trip to the molar operative who seemed to know the drill and before a swimming lesson for the Granddaughter, I managed a swift trip onto the hill.

Soil Hill 10:45

I managed to put some more ‘Carrion Crow’ fodder down while I was up there ,on the look out for Snow Bunting (or anything else).
I call it Carrion Crow fodder because that was the only bird I saw as I spent 30 mins having a snoop about!
Soil Hill was dead and dead windy with it.
A few Canada Goose and a pair of Mallard (I think) were in or near the Coal Lane Pond, however with the long distance and the strong wind shaking the camera the pictures are very very poor.
On the way home a Blackbird was sheltering under the few pine trees opposite the Soil Hill track.
A Mistle Thrush flew over and a couple of far off Meadow Pipit (which actually looked like Redwing in the bins!)were in the fields near Taylor Lane, feeding with two Starling.

On the way down Bradshaw Lane (I was loosing the will to live by now) 12 small gulls were in the fields, a Goldfinch was on a garden wall and a few House Sparrow were knocking about.

Other than that not a lot else.

The only saving grace is that tomorrows birding (should I get out and about) has  got to be 100% better that this or I’ll eat my hat (again).

(I got a new hat as a Christmas Present    HA.   B….Y   HA.)
