We were confined to barracks today shifting snow and
building a snowman.
The frequent heavy snow showers continued all day.
I shifted it once with neighbour Chris and it made a comeback so I shifted
twice and it made another comeback so I gave up and it stopped snowing for a
while!
I decided a mile walk to the paper shop was a good
idea whist Grandma and Abigail did jigsaws. I took the camera just in case
anything interesting turned up.
Surprisingly there were quite a few birds knocking
about with BHG scavenging in the house gardens near the paper shop.
Even more surprising was the TOTAL! lack of snow on our way to Heckmondwike and later, Sowerby Bridge, to see Emma.
I may well have seen a Snipe coming up from Oats Royds area and going over Bradshaw Church, looked like a fast flying Starling - but I had no bins and no chance of a pic. so I'll put it down to wishful thinking.
It's 18:00 now and it's still snowing.
Birds:
Greenfinch,Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, BHG, Possible LBBG.
Blackbird, Carrion Crow, Starling, 5 Canada Geese with another group over later - hard to say how many Canada Geese were in the group buildings got in the way.
Today’s
snow joke.
Two skiers talking.
1st skier: I going to Zag-Zig down the
hill.
2nd Skier: It’s not Zag-Zig it’s Zig-Zag
They argue for a while about who’s right either Zag-Zig
or Zig-Zag.
2nd Skier: There is a Tobboganist over
there see what he says.
1st Skier to Tobboganist: Have you got 20 Benson
& Hedges please.
Yep you got it - that's snow joke.
