Leeshaw, Lower Laithe & Ponden Reservoirs

A trip to Oxenhope this morning.

Leeshaw 9:45

There were 18 Canadas showing in the fields when I arrived, another 2 dropped in later and another 15 arrived later still. However, when I looked back from the main gate, as I left ,there were actually c50 in the fields.
C85 Lapwing were on the shore for a while before leaving and a single Oystercatcher stood nearby – a very nice surprise. Looks like spring is nearly here.
Red Grouse were calling from the moor and there were a few Pheasant about.
Also in the fields were 5 Greylag Geese & Cormorant on the shore with the usual small gull sp.

Lower Laithe 11:15

I had a quick squint at L.L. on my way to Ponden.
Just the usual small gulls (as far as I could tell) and 5 Canada Geese in the distance.

Ponden 11:40 – 12:00

C20 Canada Geese and a Pink Footed Goose? in amongst them. A few small gulls. In the fields near the Res.2 Jay,  2 Oystercatcher, Pheasant, 2 Moorhen, Mistle Thrush, Greenfinch, Goldfinch.
