A cold westerly breeze this morning but it stayed
dry while I was there. Some track repairs look imminent looking at the piles of
gravel about.
I had a better day than of late with bird song more noticeable
and the geese and Lapwing in good voice. I put some nyger seed on the track (after
the track turns left at the end, near the footpath sign on the left).
(I Stopped for a few mins at the Upper Marsh fields
but I did not see any Goldies just Lapwing and Starlings here).
Birds:-
12 Meadow Pipit, c160 Lapwing, C60 Canada Goose, 13
Greylag Goose, 3 Oystercatcher, 2 Curlew > E.

hail showers. I didn’t stop as long as normal. Water and nearby fields quiet.

(may be domesticated), usual Mallards and a few small gulls. A Red Grouse was calling
from the moor. C 20 Goldfinch, Mistle Thrush, 3 Oystercatcher, Grey Heron, Curlew
calling.

I has a 5 min. stop here, on the way back to
Leeming, The water was deserted, the usual small gulls were perched on the
water board ‘pier’ together with an Oystercatcher.

It was sunny and sheltered here, a pleasant stroll
around. The path is very boggy at the far end.
Water had a bit more life but just Mallard and
Canadas on it today.
There was a lot of bird song from the nearby bushes
with Greenfinch singing loudly. No Dipper today though.
Birds:-
21 Canada Goose, usual small gulls and Mallards, 2
Greenfinch (seen), 2 Reed Bunting, Bullfinch, Chaffinch, 2 Kestrel, 2 Robin 4
LTT, Mistle Thrush, usual Blue & Great Tits about.
