A different play gym for Abigail & Emma today
near the Paris Gates Pub Halifax and a new area for me to mosey about for an
hour.
There are some interesting high building here: I wonder
if they ever have a visit from Peregrine?
I had a short stroll on Phoebe Lane, Haigh Lane past
Farrah Mill and back onto the Hebble Trail to Water Lane and then up Boys Lane.
The highlight of the outing was a Goldcrest seen
within 100yds of leaving the gym.
It was an interesting walk, spoilt by the amount of
rubbish dumped next to the Hebble by factories and the general public by the
looks of it.
I also passed through graffiti City on the way to Water Lane an interesting
interlude with some of tomorrows
artists on display today.
At the end of the play gym over spill car park , near
the railway line, I was trying to photo an elusive Bullfinch when I was stung by something – no idea I could
get stung in February!!
Birds:-
Robin 3, Blackbird, Long Tailed Tit 6, Woodpigeon, Goldcrest,
Wren 2 – singing loudly, Nuthatch, Goldfinch, Pr. Bullfinch, Jackdaw, Dunnock 2 (singing loudly) and
others.
The worst ever Goldcrest shot?
Dunnock in good voice
Railway Line - Interesting Site for Falcons?
Spot the Bullfinch
Peregrine Country?
Used to bird around Farrah Mill 40 yrs ago when it was the vehicle body repair shop for Park Motors when I worked there. Some good species used to turn up around the beck.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting area for later in the year perhaps.
