A wet,windy and a pretty miserable morning
for a walk.
I got togged up, anyway, and set off from
the Queensbury play gym.
I was not expecting much and not much came
along in the strong SW wind!
I decided on a Woodpigeon v Magpie count.
Magpies 10. Woodies 6.
The entrance to the old railyway tunnel
has been adorned with a new ' no entry' sign - so I gave it a miss.
Read on if you suffer from insomnia!
The cycleway had a fly-over of 12 large
gulls - 4 LBBG at least I believe. There were 15 gulls in the field 3 LBBG and
Common Gulls.
Nothing out of the ordinary at all today.
The Rookery opposite the Junction Pub was
noisy and very active.
On Low Lane a single Lapwing and then
pr. of Lapwing in the fields.
Raggalds Flood held a few bucketfulls of
water, pr. Lapwing a crow and c40 Starling flitting about.
A poor day weatherwise but better than
sitting about doing the crossword.
Going through Brighouse at tea time (on the way to
dropping Abigail off at Heckmondwike) a Grey Heron flew over.
Birds:
6 Woodpigeon, 10 Magpie, c60 Starling,
Blackbird, Great Tit, Blue Tit, 15 Common Gull, 4 LBBG, 2 Wren, 2Greenfinch,
3Chaffinch, 3Lapwing, Many a Rook, 6 Goldfinch, Meadow Pipit, BHG.
