Oats Royd

12:30 - 14:30

I was deciding my walk area this morning, when I heard a couple of calls from a Cuckoo, coming from Oats Royd area, so that made the decision for me.

It was a hot and sunny morning with cloud and breeze coming along later.

It was just the usual stuff about today.

The pr. Canada Goose and 6 large Gosling were feeding in the farm fields near Bradshaw Park.

Down by the ponds and nearby:-

3 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff, Pr. Canada and the 3 domesticated.
9 Swallow, 2 Moorhen and 1 very skittish Moorhen chick on the top pond.

6 Chaffinch, 2 Pied Wagtail, 1 Meadow Pipit, 2 House Sparrow, 7 Greenfinch, 1 Goldcrest in the pines near the factory at Holdsworth.
2 Goldfinch, 5 Dunnock, 2 Collard Dove, 2 Robin, Poss. Whitethroat in the Bradshaw Park hedge.
A large gull over poss LBBG but pic. poor

No sight or sound of the Cuckoo.

Two big birds over:-
