10:15 - 12:30
The usual morning stroll to Queensbury
play gym accompanied by Gale!!.
A wild, blustery wind kept most birds off
my radar.
Going up the Bonnet out of Bradshaw a
Sparrowhawk was struggling, flying low and being mobbed by 4 Swallow as it flew
north towards a farm.
From the Raggalds to the cycle track / old
railway line not much stirring.
A Pied Wagtail, c20 Starlings feeding in
the fields nr. Lowe Lane.
A solitary Lapwing was feeding in the
fields here.
Looking over the valley to Well Heads a
few fields have been ploughed - maybe worth a closer look later on?
A couple of Meadow Pipit and 2 Collard
Dove was also about.
11:15 Cycle Track - Old
Railway Line.
A Greenfinch was struggling to stay put on
a branch, Chaffinch, Blackbird and 4 Swift.
The 4 Swift were enjoying the gale.
2 Robin, Goldfinch, 5 Willow Warbler a few
Swallow, Dunnock and a House Martin made brief appearances.
Not a very interesting morning but nice to
be out and about nevertheless.
I am well overdue for something special
appearing in my bins!!!
(and not the container holding the
remains of "No 34 ....Sweet and Sour Chicken with fried
rice"!!!)
Breeze blowing the grass - making a pretty picture.
Old Motorbikes beware of huge sticky-out nasty white crosses
Awesome photo of 2 Swift.
Cropped - even more awesome - 2 Swift picture
Hopefully the wind will blow itself out overnight.
