Soil Hill

19:20 – 20:45

I had a late evening visit to a beautiful Soil Hill.

The sun was shining and although the wind was blowing it was very pleasant up here this evening.

The Skylarks were up singing and the Meadow Pipits were buzzing about as I put some Nyger seed down.

I was met with a grizzly scene on the rock by the feeding area of the remains of a large bird. Most probably a hen.

There were 4 Swift enjoying the breeze and 6 or so Linnet flitting about.

There was a small bird on the NK pond but it zamoosed before I could get a photo.

A few LBBG went over and an unusual sight for me up there – a House Martin overhead.

A Pheasant was calling from below the north end and a Curlew was calling from Ogden area.

A Blackbird was on the very top – another unusual bird for me so high up.

On the way down to Ned Hill Track a Carrion Crow with a white(ish) breast and 8 Jackdaws.

And to finish on a high note a dancing Pied Wagtail!
