Soil Hill

19:30 – 20:30

Sue was kind enough to take some time out from making batches of Tomato Chutney to drop me at Soil Hill.

The rain had stopped and the clouds had lifted but it was very wet underfoot and dull.
I dropped some Nyger seed.
There were 200+ Starling feeding near the track.
The usual (very damp looking) Skylark and Meadow Pipit contingent were knocking about.
A Curlew went over > E and later 3 Curlew over towards Ogden Res.
Also about 5 Linnet, a Dunnock and a Swallow having a well earned rest perched on a wall.
On my return Sue asked “Have you seen much?”.
I said “Lets talk chutney”.

A Joke:

A woman opens her blinds one morning to find a huge Gorilla staring at her from the tree outside her bedroom window.
She phones the Zoo and 15 mins. Later Harry the Gorilla catcher arrives with a Huge Dog (Spike), a huge bunch of bananas, a huge net and a shotgun.
Here is the deal Harry says.
I need you to help me with this but its pretty straight forward.
I climb the Tree
I lob the bananas to George the Gorilla
As George lets go of the branch to catch the bananas I shake the tree like Billy-o
George falls from the tree
Spike grabs George very very firmly by the goolies.
Funnily enough, George becomes very very docile and calm
You throw the net over George
I climb down, coax George into the cage on the wagon

Got all that?

Yep – but what about the shotgun.

Oh yes, nearly forgot that.

If I fall from the tree – SHOOT THE DOG!!

I wonder where all the Nyger seed ends up!
