Ogden

15:20 – 17:00

Sue dropped me at Ogden for a stroll in the mizzle this aft to look for a Wader or two!

There was a lot of activity on the feeders with Coal Tits in abundance and 2 Nuthatch on the feeders and a third Nuthatch calling from the nearby trees.

The Usual gull sp. on the water and shoreline as far as I could see.

2 possibly 3 Cormorant ( one was flying high over the water), Great Crested Grebe, 2 Grey Wagtail (Long time no see), Heron.

At the north end I spotted c6 Coal Tit and a single Goldcrest flitting about high in the trees (with dozens more Goldcrest up there no doubt!).

Nature called so I took the opportunity to have a walk up the intake stream looking for Dipper. No joy – a long while now since I’ve seen one here.
There was C10 Swallow zooming about the tops of the pines.

The mist closed in and enshrouded Soil Hill so I went home via the lanes.

There were C10 Linnet on the wires near Cock Hill Gate Farm.
Nearing Bradshaw Park c20 Swallow were feeding under trees with a few young Swallow sitting in the gloom on fence posts.
A Wren and 5 Woodpigeon were seen from here on in.
One Woodpigeon was looking decidedly damp.
