I took a stroll around the Bradshaw area this, chilly,
morning, through the park , down to Oats Royd and across to Holdsworth caravan
park and back.
There was just a solitary Mallard on the Oats Royd ponds,
but a Heron left in a hurry from one of the little pools by the track.
The trees were alive with birds flitting about, but
getting photos proved a challenge with the foliage getting in the way.
There are lots of leaves on the deck so foliage soon
won’t be a problem.
The usual suspects today, Robin, Blue & Great Tit, 12
Blackbird, 8 Long Tailed Tit, 4 Bullfinch, 2 Wren, Chaffinch, Jay, Pheasant
and a nice surprise – a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Nearing Holdsworth there were 4 Mistle Thrush on the
telegraph poles.
Also about there were a few BHG and Woodpigeon , Rook with
lots of Jackdaw.
An enjoyable couple of hours even without anything special
coming out to play.
Lots of spiders about at the moment
Heron making a get-away
Spot the Woody Woodpecker
The light was not brilliant
