The Lakes (and a tale about the stuff that fills ‘em).

We ‘enjoyed’ a day out Christmas shopping at the outdoor clothing shops at Ambleside today.
The weather was truly diabolical with stair-rod rain from just before Skipton to Burneside near Windermere.
The roads were flooded in many places and every so often a huge aggregate wagon would dump as much water as it could, from the road ,over the top of the car.
We did think about turning back but Sue and her Christmas shopping take some separating!
The journey home was a lot better with some sunshine and less flooding (as the video shows – the voice is from Radio 2).

I was hoping to get some wildfowl photos from the Hellifield Flash – but there was no chance of seeing anything today.

(Hats off to Nigel K. on his Soil Hell extravaganza – hope you are thoroughly wet on the inside now Nigel!).

Lots of the fields were in flood

Reminded me of Mick Jagger's "Get off My Cloud"

One of the smaller floods - honest!
