Lanes near home

11:45 - 14:30

A cold snowy morning gave way to sunshine and wintry showers so we ventured out for a walk along the local lanes today.

Thank heavens for crows because they were about all we saw today.

We went down Bradshaw Lane up Ingham Lane right along Syke Lane, right up Keighley Road and right at the traffic lights to Asa Nicholsons for a brew.
The route home was via Kelham.

Four or so fields north of the Raggalds Flood there were 42 Lapwing feeding in a muddy field.

Raggalds flood reminded me of the song "3 coins in a fountain" however it was more "3 crows and a pallet" up here!

At least we got a couple of hours of fresh air if nowt else.

A risque joke - look away now if you are easily offended.

Two Eskimos were bragging to each other about how cold their igloo's were.
1st Eskimo: Go and have a pee in my toilet.
2nd Eskimo: (Having said pee) Flipping ummer it's frozen my pee before it hit the porcelain - that's cold - but not as cold as my place.
"Come on over to my place"  (he sang  - next to a drift? - but  I digress).

In the 2nd Eskimos toilet the  2nd eskimo points to a small brown mark on one of the ice blocks.

2nd Eskimo: Get your zippo lighter and apply some heat on that small mark there.
1st Eskimo lights his zippo and does as he is told.
Seconds later a small "poop" comes from the mark on the ice block.

2nd Eskimo: Now that's what I call cold - a frozen fart.

Yeh, yeh I know it's a crap joke, but it's been a crap day.
