Soil Hill
14:45 - 16:30 (ish)
I had a mosey up to
and around Soil Hill this aft. It was actually warm up here today! (If you
kept out of the breeze).
I had seen my first
local Swallow earlier in the day near the Bonnet and I saw another 3 or
so on the Soil Hill trip.
The usual stuff here today:-
9 Skylark, 10
Meadow Pipit, 2 Stock Dove,
2 Partridge flushed
from the field next to the 'Ring Ouzel' hedge - I could not get the bins on
them quick enough to ID them - but I suspect they are the 2 Grey Partridge that
both NK & BS have seen recently.
5 Lapwing, c20
Woodpigeon, Moorhen, Mallard and in the field opposite the White Bungalow at
the end of Perseverance Road a Wheatear.

No sign of Patrick Mcgoohan either.
Gargrave:-
