13:45 - 15:45
I enjoyed a couple of hours out and about
this aft.
The weather was cool and breezy to start
but warmed up later on.
I took the path behind the old bus
terminus that runs up to Roper Lane here there were a couple of Linnet on the
wall.
From Roper Lane I had a look at Raggalds
"Flood".The flood is dry as a bone and just a couple of Swallow
knocking about.
I went up Perseverance Road and on to Soil
Hill.
A pair of Kestrel were hunting on the Hill
being mugged by a crow type.
On the top, 4 Skylark, 6 Meadow Pipit,
Curlew seen in the fields below the north side and a Lapwing or 2.
Coming off Soil Hill onto Ned Hill Track a
Whitethroat called from the Whin/Gorse at the very top of the path.
2 more Whitethroat were seen behind
Pottery Cottage - one was singing in flight.
I had a good Linnet day with 4 seen on Ned
Hill Track and 2 on Taylor Lane.
Also seen from Taylor Lane 2 Goldfinch, 2
Meadow Pipit, 2 Swift calling high up and the Little Owl was in its usual spot
- always nice to see.
Just busy Starlings and House Sparrows
seen on the way home.
An enjoyable stroll in the fresh air.
Spot the Whitethroat
Very elusive
2 Swift Dots
Little Owl a long way off
