Bradshaw to Soil Hill and back.

18:00 – 20:00

I thought I’d have another look for my ‘blackbird’ on the North side of Soil Hill this evening.

A Little Owl was on the wall opposite the ‘Cuckoo’ site at the bottom of Taylor Lane – it was still there 2 Hours later when I passed again.

The ‘blackbird’ failed to materialise although I gave it an undercoat and 2 top coats of looking at.

A singing Whitethroat led me all the way up the north edge tree line, keeping one step ahead, and frustratingly out of sight.
At the very top it flew all the way down to the bottom!!

After all the singing - I think I got a photo of the female though.

I actually got 2 Grey Partridge this evening after a long wait.

Other Birds:-

4 Lapwing, 4 Pheasant, 2 Swallow and the usual Skylark and Meadow Pipit about.

Female Whitethroat?

Little Owl still there

  1. There are a pair of blackbirds nesting at the bottom of the tree line John. Glad you got your Partridge at last
