We are just back from a great holiday
on the Isle Of Wight.
I managed to get a couple of Lifers in
the shape of a Pr. Marsh Harrier.
Raven seemed to be the bird of the
holiday with several around the Duver area nr. Bempton Harbour, numerous
distance sightings (in flight) with the distinctive call confirming the
sighting and 3 Raven seen on a visit to the Needles.
Green Woodpecker and Little Egret seem very common.
But finding the elusive Lesser Pecker is still on my 'to do' list, even though I searched here for them, each day!
Another lifer - a Slow Worm was seen also.

One of the many good things about the
Isle Of Wight is, that if you don’t want to drive, and you are centrally
placed, you can get to all the Island on public transport.
If you are an old fart like me you can
use your bus pass – Sue, alas, had to pay.
Be careful if you sit upstairs at the
front, the buses have a bad habit of being plonked by tree branches and some of
the upstairs, bus front windows are re-inforced with metal around the edges.
I have put some pages together with photos.
These can be seen to the right of this post.
Hope they don't bore you to tears!!
