Ogden Golf Course & Ogden Water

A double dose of birding today with Sue off for meal at her friend Helen’s she dropped me off at Ogden – Union Lane.

Later on near the Moorlands, a text from BS had me scouring the skies for Golden Plover, but I failed to get them so – guess what – I had to drown my sorrows in the Moorlands with a pint of Guinness – thanks for the text Bri.

Union Lane – Golf Course Area 16:40 – 18:00

After a dearth of local Blackcaps for me this year, they seemed to be everywhere this evening – 4 seen and a few others heard.

Other Birds:-

Chiffchaff, Oystercatcher, Long Tailed Tit.
A bird calling nearby took me ages to locate. Then there it was 100 yds right in front of me, a superb Reed Bunting, one of my favourite birds.

18:05  - 19:30 (ish) Ogden Water

I did the usual circuit.

A Pheasant called nearby and there were 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 15 Canada Geese, Mallards, 12 Black Headed Gulls – (no common gull that I could see), Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Jay.

Homeward bound via Boggart Brig, I saw a notice that the café/house has been sold and it looks like the café will close.

A real shame, I’ve enjoyed many a bacon sarnie or salad there – always top class food.

  2. The video shows fine on my laptop but not supported on my Kindle Dave.
I use the Google Blogger Tool to import the video onto my blog.
There may be a better method of getting video (mp4) files onto the blog but I don't know what it is!!
    Thks for the comment.
Sorry for this late response but I've been on the Isle of Wight
