Bradshaw to Soil Hil (and back)

 15:45 - 19:20

After the heavy intermittent showers had packed up and gone home I took an enjoyable evening stroll up and around Soil Hill.

It was a pleasant evening with less wind than of late and a smidgen of sunshine later on in the walk.

Just the usual stuff seen knocking about again.

Taylor Lane had just a couple of Meadow Pipit.
I've not seen the Little Owls for some weeks now.

Soil Hill had half a dozen or so Meadow Pipit, 2 Skylark and 2 Common Gull.

Looking towards Denholme cricket field a match was still in progress and there were c60 small gulls & 35 Woodpigeon here.

Further along there was a further 50 or so small gulls by the horse field pond.

6 lesser Black-backed Gulls came over together scanning for something.

Ned Hill Track held a shy young Robin just getting its red breast and a flock of Canada Geese flew over to land towards Denholme.

A nice enough evening walk even if the birdlife was meagre.

NOTE:

A man stopped to ask me if I'd seen his young ,Blue Staffy, dog.
It had apparently slipped it's collar and had beggared off from the farm on Taylor Lane.
I kept an eye out but it did not cross my path.

It is an awful feeling when your dog goes missing as we know from a mullock we had with some cows whilst out walking in Huddersfield years ago.
