Burnsall & Foreside Lane, Ogden, Bradshaw

We enjoyed a run out to Burnsall on a beautiful hot sunny day today with the temperature reaching 26 degrees.
As we approached Burnsall a Wheatear flew above the wall next to our car for a few hundred yds.
On the way home Sue dropped me off opposite Denholme Cricket Ground and I enjoyed a very hot hike home via Ogden Water and Ned Hill Track.

15:45 Foreside Lane.

The hot weather seemed to be affecting the birdlife.

2 very distant Wheatear, 3 Meadow Pipit, 3 Linnet, Lesser Black-backed Gull over.

16:30 Ogden

Wren singing, 4 Cormorant, 2 Nuthatch calling (not seen), 90 Gulls, 51 Canada Geese.

17:15 Adventure World - Ned Hill Track - Home

3 Linnet.
70 Small birds on the telegraph lines to the right of Coal Lane.
The birds were in silhouette but I believe they are Linnet.

A few Meadow Pipit on Ned hill Track.
I thought about Soil Hill: then I stopped thinking about Soil Hill as my perspiration level was at max.
I went home via Perseverance Road , Taylor Lane and the Koi Carp Bridleway.

Burnsall 10:50 - 13:30

We enjoyed a lovely stroll along the river Wharf towards Grassington earlier.

Birds:

5 Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker calling, 2 Kingfisher both very distant, 4 Goosander, Pied Wagtail.
A duck keeping well hidden below trees on the riverbank.
I believe it is a Mandarin Duck.
(Weasel), Dipper, 2 Grey Wagtail and a few other sp.

Sue and I were in London earlier this month. We walked down a really posh street where there was an Egon Ronay restaurant.
The aroma from the place was exquisite.
After we had passed by, Sue said "What a fantastic aroma from that restaurant!"
What the hell - I thought - I'll treat her.

So.... we walked past the restaurant again.

(Thanks Mick)
