Oats Royd - Roper Lane - Old Guy Road

It was another humid day as I had a local stroll this aft.

Tough going today with a lot of perspiration and nowt much else.

Oats Royd 13:45

2 Moorhen, 2 Bullfinch (heard calling not seen).
A singing Chiffchaff which I though unusual - again not seen.
A Carrion Crow looking decidedly like a Raven.
Also nice to see 3 Kestrel (1 was a juv.) high over head.

Roper Lane - Old Guy Road 15:00

Very quiet with the odd Woodpigeon or two, a group of Starling c400 and a few House Sparrow.

The saving grace was a Wheatear on the wall of the Old Guy Road Track.

Still, nice to be out and about and not getting wet.

A real rubbish joke:-

2 mates on a park bench when a third man joins them.
1st man to 3rd man: "What's you name then?"
3rd man: "Michael Robertshaw"
1st man: "Pardon"
3rd man: "Michael Robertshaw"
1st man: "Pardon"
3rd man as he gets up and leaves: "MICHAEL ROBERTSHAW!!!!"

2nd man: "Who was that then?"
1st man: "I Don't know, he just kept on about
Michael row the boat ashore"
2nd man: "Oh yes! I remember him from school now"

I think it's the heat.

A few pics.
