I enjoyed a good walk around this aft. It was warm and calm at Ogden but cool and very breezy on Soil Hill top (as ever).
There was not a lot happening at all today.
A walk from Union Lane to Rocks Lane, down past Lanehead and along the track by the golf course produced .... not a lot:-
16 Swallow, Heron, 1 House Martin (my first in a while).
On the way to Ogden Water 5 Swallow and 2 Meadow Pipit kept me company.
The water had 6 Cormorant (a record number for me I think),
C180 Gulls mostly Black Headed Gull, 3 Lesser black-backed Gull ,2 Canada Geese and the usual Mallard.
There were lots of people out Walpoling.
Things didn't improve much as I walked through the plantation and on through "Another World Adventure Centre" to exit opposite Coal Lane. Just a Pheasant that sat motionless in the field and there were a couple of Meadow Pipit hereabouts.
Coal Lane, Soil Hill, Taylor Lane to home was just as poor:-
Soil Hill had 4 Goldfinch, 2 Swallow, 11 Meadow Pipit.
Taylor Lane showed up with 2 Meadow Pipit.
Still it's nice to be out and about in the sunshine on a Sunday afternoon.
Looking across Ogden Golf Course
Spot the 3 Goldfinch
Spot the Meadow Pipit
