With the recent reputation of Ogden's bird life soaring, and myself missing a good deal of the creme-de-la-creme, here, I though this nasty weather might just have dropped a Mega for me.
My first circuit of the water was accompanied with heavy, cold rain for 80% of the lap.
Just c6 small gulls here at the outset rising to c20 when I departed.
The Mallard population were well dispersed around the shoreline due to the lack of "Warburton Wangers" here.
My 2nd circuit was a bit more pleasant with some watery sunshine at times.
Birds were difficult to find on this disappointing outing.
The specs, bins and camera were a bit blurry today as well.
A good check from the promenade for Dipper & Kingfisher , on both circuits, failed to produce either bird.
2 Goldcrest made an appearance when the rain packed in, and heartened by that, I went beyond the 1st bridge on the east side to look for, well 'owt really - and found .... next to n'owt.
There were a good few small birds high in the dark conifers here, Goldcrest and Coal Tit presumably.
6 Long Tailed Tit were feeding along passerine alley, and the odd Chaffinch and Goldfinch calls were heard, but the large Tit flock failed to materialise.
I was glad to get back into my car (1 of only 3 cars in the car park).

When I got home, Sue had had a text from the "YEB" saying that there had been a power cut but they were working diligently to fix it.
So, with that, she suggested a trip out to Asa Nicholson's for lunch.
A good day for Gammon, Eggs, Chips, Pineapple bread and butter and hot coffee I think!
After leaving Asa Nich's , on a visit to Queensbury Tesco, I had a look at Raggalds Flood and was pleased to pick 3 Teal out of the gloom.
Driving past the football field I noticed that it was lively with small gulls, Starling and Lapwing although I didn't stop.
More rain tomorrow - good oh!
Lots of water gushing through
A bit soggy underfoot
Lapwings
Extra Mega super dooper Goldcrest Pic!
Some very distant Teal pics in the gloom
