A local stroll

No birding to speak of today (nothing new there then, I hear you say).

We had a stroll from home to a friends house in Ambler Thorn and back.

53 Lapwing were in the fields, with a single Black Headed Gull, to the west of the Raggalds Pub.

2 of the massive Ogden turbines are now turning and there remains just one to assemble by the looks of it.

A Common Gull sat guard on a pole as we walked along Roper Lane.

Goldfinch were in the small trees above the start of the Oats Royd track - looks like next door to O.R. (May Royd) is up for sale.

House for sale - details

On the return journey a Mistle Thrush was opposite Warmleigh buildings.

There was a cycle speedway track here (push bikes) in the 1960's I remember from my youth. I remember riding my bike for Warmleigh Tigers but I cannot remember if it lasted more than a week or two.

The sky was an unusually bright pick colour this evening so good weather tomorrow?

Exciting stuff - I know, sit a while, relax, breath deeply and get your breath back.

Link to an old Christmas Joke (just)
