Birdcage Hill Area and Bradshaw to Oats Royd

10:30 - 11:15

Birdcage Hill Area.

An interesting stroll down Birdcage Hill to the new river bridge and houses.
There were 2 Nuthatch knocking about and also a drumming Woodpecker.

2 Great Spotted Woodpecker were chasing one another around as well.

There were 2 Song Thrush, Goldcrest and a Jay with lots of Blue and Great Tit.

The river by the bridge area was devoid of birds.

14:30 - 16:15

Oats Royd:

Leaving the house, a Chaffinch was singing.

A short stroll this aft. down to Oats Royd in a cold North Easterly breeze with a few snowflakes.

Opposite the ex. Bradshaw Tavern buildings a few Redwing and Starling were in the trees.

Oats Royd was quiet with Rook, 2 Moorhen, a singing Wren, a calling Bullfinch (not seen) and a singing Chaffinch.

On the way back up, a Heron flew over.

By the first farm  Greenfinch, Chaffinch and a few Goldfinch.

Near Bradshaw Park c20 Redwing and a House Sparrow were seen.

A very cold but enjoyable outing.

With some north in the wind today ..... Something juicy might appear??

Have a good week-end all.
