It was a pleasant, coolish day today with some sunshine.
Another look for Woodpeckers.
I had a walk down past Coley Church to Priestley Green, a nosy down past Lees Lane Stables then back up to the church. A left turn along Coley Lane and first left into the fields before following the field wall down onto Soaper House Lane (where c500 Small Gulls - could have been more - were following a muck-spreader. Mainly Black Headed Gulls, but I did ID a few 1st Winter Common Gulls) and back to the car via Coley Lane.
Not one Woodpecker heard or seen today.
Birds:-
5 Mistle Thrush, 10 Pied Wagtail, Robin, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, c100 Jackdaw, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Carrion Crow, Woodpigeon, Magpie, Long Tailed Tit, Fieldfare, Stock Dove, Jay, c50 Redwing, c30 Starling, Song Thrush singing, c500 Small Gulls, House Sparrow, 6 Wren, Chaffinch, Mallard.
Raggalds Flood had 1 Carrion Crow, 1 Magpie and a flyover of c50 Lapwings and , pleasing to see, plenty of water.
3 of 10 very distant Pied wagtails
Robin of the Day
Quick moving and elusive Goldcrest - aren't they always?
Stock Dove perched on some fungi.
If there was a Raptor up there then I didn't see it.
My first Snowdrops a sign of spring or possibly snow?
A Fiedlfare in amongst the Redwing.
1st Winter Common Gull
