Bradshaw to Soil Hill and back

Abigail fancied a different park for scootering today so no Shibden Park birds to report.

14:00 - 16:30 Dull and Warm

The forecast rain never materialised, so my waterproofs added another degree or so to my body temperature on a really mild day.

The Little Owl was on a field wall as I went up the hill and a Pied Wagtail has returned to the Midden by the Threshing Machine.

Soil Hill.

I had a good scan about, including a look over by the Ordnance Column but I gave the north side tree line a miss today.

I had a distance sighting of B.S. (after I'd been up there for a while) I was over by the Ordnance Column and our paths failed to meet today.

Birds:-

A Kestrel left the Comms. Mast as I arrived.
5 Skylark, Pheasant, c25 Woodpigeon, A (live) Fox, 6 Meadow Pipit, Heron.

A large flock of Lapwing, airborne, far off in the distance and a Curlew called from way over Ovenden Moor somewhere.

A couple of Feral (ex Racing?) Pigeon on the quarry.
A Blue Checkered and a Red Checkered.

A Moorhen was on the lower (NK) pond.

Frogspawn on the pools.

Ned Hill Track.

A fair scout around here as well today, but not a lot about.

2 Pheasant, 2 Singing Skylark, 1 Meadow Pipit, 2 Wren.

Pleasing to hear Greenfinch calling from Perseverance Road, Taylor Lane and Bradshaw Lane trees and bushes.

c35 Woodpigeon were in the Bonnet fields area.

According to a little book Sue's sister, Ruth, bought me for Christmas. The world bird watching record holder(s) are Alan Davies and Ruth Miller with 4,341 species in 12 months (2008).

My list does have three of the same digits as theirs - so I am on the right track.

My digits are in a different order though - 143!
