With DJS's report of a Kittiwake earlier today ....
I thought I'd check out a couple of reservoirs this aft.
First up, in this awful weather, was Ogden - where not-a-lot was happening!
A couple of Canada Geese with the Mallards (no sign of the Tufties).
9 Goosander present as far as I could tell.
They were well spread about on a choppy reservoir.
A couple of Goldcrest and a Robin seen on a soggy circuit.
15:00 Leeshaw.
Bloody awful weather here.
A near gale and driving rain with nothing discernable on the ocean waves.
I got out of the car then .............. got back in the car again.
C50 Canada's and 30 Greylag Geese were sheltering in the fields with 5 or so large gulls.
Risking being identified as a right old plonker , I've taken a stab at identifying some of the Gulls on some of the photies.
Ogden's Goosanders:
A bleak Leeshaw Reservoir:-
Some bleak photographs:-
Lesser Black-backed Gull
1st Winter Herring Gull?
Adult Herring Gull or possibly Yellow Legged?
