The usual outing today.
The weather was changeable with lots of sunshine and then a heavy shower.
Soil Hill:
Very, very windy up here today.
Skylarks were up singing and there were a few Meadow Pipits about.
A Juv. Skylark was on a wall, by the looks of it.
A Whitethroat was singing, full belt, above the wind:the bush it was in was swaying like a boat in a storm.
The Whitethroat kept on singing, ignoring the wind, but refused to come into view.
I didn't hang about up here long today.
Ogden Water:
Curlew calling from the moor as I sat on a wall on Back Lane, Ogden eating my tripe and onion butties.
A Mistle Thrush and a few Pheasants were here also.
Large Gulls overhead and 5 or so on Ogden Water.
Ogden Water was disappointing.
The 5 Gulls possibly include a 3cy Herring Gull and a Juv. Herrring Gull.
But seeing that my Gull ID skills are rubbish, they may well be Lesser Black-backed Gulls!!
Also about 3 Black Headed Gull and a Grey Wagtail.
A solitary gull by the bread lobbers area looked like a Lesser Black Backed Gull but how old??
A few other sp. some quite distant, but all in all a quiet do.
Juv. Skylark?
(Above) Possible 3cy Herring Gull (middle) and Juv. Herring Gull right
