√Filey Again

Filey Sunday 20/08/2017.

Another trip to Primrose Valley to take Emma and Abigail on
holiday, before the school hols end.

A calm warm day on Filey Brigg.

The tide was against me again, just an hour or so before I had
to get off the rocks.

A family of 4 left it a bit late and were cut off by the incoming tide and they
had to go up the cliff steps to get back to Filey.

A LIFER for me in the shape of a Whimbrel.

Some large ducks were in the sea off the tip of the Brigg.
At first I though Eider but I think they are distant Scoters.

Other birds about were:-

Swallow (lots) , Sand Martin and House Martin.
Knott in Summer Plumage, Fulmar.
Turnstone, Oystercatcher.
Some interesting Gulls –
including some Juveniles that I can't ID!
Cormorant, Little Egret.
Dunlin, Common Scoter.
Fulmar.
On the cliffs Pied Wagtail, Linnet and Goldfinch.
And plenty of others I reckon.

What colour 'tractor survey' (on the way home) results:-
Red.........4
Orange...2
Blue........5
Green.....7
Total......18

A few pics.

Not sure on the ID's  here.

Interesting  bird in front -Probably Herring Gull though.

Herring Gull & Common Scoter

Little Egret

I bumped into this brave young lady with a Crab?

Redshank on the left - too distant to ID the bird on the right

This (Herring?) Gull was dive bombing a Cormarant.
The Cormorant was carrying a fish I think and didn't look too perturbed.

Cormorant?

Redshank (?)

Feral Pigeon - Interesting Colours

Oystercatcher

Fulmar

This pristine looking  young Gull has me beat.
I'll plump for a Juv/1st year Great Black-backed Gull.

Many Swallow near the large car park on the cliff.
