√Hollingworth Lake

Tuesday 22nd August 2017

We took Abigail and her dad to Hollingworth Lake for a couple of nights.
It was Abigail's first time in a tent with her dad.
Abigail loved the tent life even though the weather was 'changeable'

I managed to slope off for a couple of hours and had a nosy around the lake area.

Birds:-

100+ Lapwing, very noisy, seen from the hide by the lake.
Pr. Bullfinch. Grey Wagtail, Moorhen.
3 Snipe.
100 (plus) House Martin and many Swallows.
Flying ants might have played a part here.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Widgeon or Pochard - can't tell - think Pochard.
A beautiful Reed Bunting.
Great Created Grebe.
Coot, Black Headed Gull, Canada Geese.
Large flock of Green and Gold Finch.
Pheasant.

A strangely coloured bird perched low in a distant tree.
I think It's can only be a Woodpigeon?

Roe Deer.
