√Bradshaw - Holdsworth - Oats Royd

15:15 - 18:00

A local stroll today - a dull miserable gloomy day with the sun opening it's curtains for 2 minutes, then going back to bed.

An interesting outing, nonetheless.

(Canada Geese in the field next to our house this morning)

A slow start with the stretch from Bradshaw to Holdsworth revealing a few Long Tailed Tit and not much else.

On then, to Oats Royd and a first for me in what must be 80+ visits - a Kingfisher.

The chat to the pair of fishermen down there bringing me luck.

The bird stopped just long enough for me to get a few photies of it in the gloom.

Also here about: -

Jay, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, Moorhen, 2 Goldcrest, Wren, Blue and Great Tit.

Also 2 Chiffchaff.

The walk continued from Oats Royd, up and around Bradshaw.

3 Kestrel, Meadow Pipit, 4 Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Collard Dove.

Three Little Owl, Sparrowhawk.

Not a bad afternoon.

What the odds on a Hawk Owl for Calderdale this winter/spring?

Big change in the weather overnight should see the end of this Yuk.

What's the difference between an egg and a Little Owl?

You can beat an egg.
