√Hardcastle Crags

12:50 - 15:30

A showery damp afternoon in Bradshaw had us take a look at Hardcastle Crags this aft.

We parked on the main road above Hebden Bridge and had a longer than expected (remembered) walk to the car park!

We followed the main track to Gibson Mill with intermittent light showers for company.

After a coffee and a bun we returned via the path by the stream, a really lovely walk.

I was totally gob smacked by the lack of birds seen today.

The outward walk 'revealed' a calling Nuthatch and a 'good few' Coal Tit.
Goldcrest were calling from the high, dark canopy but I failed to spot any.

I had high hopes for the leisurely stroll back along the stream.

My hopes were dashed though, with only a couple of Grey Wagtail seen.

Even one of the Grey Wagtail were disturbed by a fisherman, walking in the stream, mid-photo!

Another calling Nuthatch and a Jay completed our birding experience.

The walk, however, was very pleasant.

Better luck next time out?

Nearer home, a quick stop at the Raggalds Flood revealed a Rook and a solitary Common Gull!

A Kestrel was on the telephone lines opposite the Raggalds Inn.

It was a nice surprise, to be welcomed home, by a singing Robin on the beech hedge.

A few spot the Grey Wagtail photos:-
