After waiting for this mornings rain to clear up I took the car to Leeshaw.
Leeshaw 11:50
A cool breezy outing with the usual Gulls as far as I could tell.
As usual they were hiding over in the west side, some out of sight and others just within camera range.
One Cormorant was with the Gulls and a 10 Canada's landed on the drink.
A Toad or Frog was croaking loudly near the gate by the muck spreader - didn't eyeball it.
A few Meadow Pipits were on field walls and some feeding in the fields with 10 Mistle Thrush.
6 or so Blackbird here also.
A Kestrel flew by - not a lot else.
Leeming 13:30
I timed my stroll here smack on - I like a good drenching followed by some sunshine to dry my drench.
Nothing much on the water 2 White Geese with the Mallards - no Gulls.
After a walk along the water's edge, a walk around the top perimeter held my interest.
2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Kestrel, 3 very fast moving Swallow or House Martin ( in ones) > S.
I manged a poor photie of one of the birds.
2 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrest, 2 Long Tailed Tit, 2 Heron and a few other sp.
The Chiffchaff was constantly on the move hidden by branches.
But after tons of photies, I'm rather chuffed I got a few good 'uns!
I stopped about 800 yds from the salt pile for a scan across the moors - a good place for Golden Plover, later on.
I was hoping for a Merlin but had to be content with a distant Kestrel perched on a flat wall top.
A quick stop at Raggalds Flood revealed 6 Lapwing.

Very distant cropped pic.
House Martin I think.
