Sue dropped me at Per Lane and I followed the Calderdale Way through Lane Head to Ogden Golf Course.
A lovely sunny evenings walk.
I was on the lookout for DJS's Redstart.
I had a long slow walk along the track and around the small bushes and trees.
Pretty uneventful for a long while with just 6 Mistle Thrush, Swallows and a Raven about.
A Reed Bunting fluttered over the reeds before heading away.
I was beginning to get despondent when a Male Stonechat popped up onto a post alongside the main track.
This was soon followed by a second Stonechat and then a Whinchat.
Then more birds appeared moving up the fence running west and dropping down into the fields to suddenly appear higher up.
I reckon a conservative count of the birds was 4 Stonechat, 3 Whinchat, 3 Reed Bunting.
2 Wren and a couple of Meadow Pipit were bobbing about as well.
I spent such a long time taking photos here that the rest of the evenings outing was a tad rushed.
The Ogden circuit had noting unusual, Black Headed Gull, 2 Cormorant, Kestrel and Bullfinch.
16 Linnet were on the lines at the bottom of the Percy Road / Ned Hill chicane.
Also seen along the way were a Fox, 2 more Kestrel and a Little Owl.
Plenty of these in my garden
Probably a Carrion Crow
2 Birds here - lower bird Whinchat - the other no sure
The path from the Clubhouse to Ogden Water.
Foliage above my head - to NK's knees.
I guess this is a Meadow Pipit
Very Large distant Gull
