A short trudge on a dull, dull , very mild evening.
The sky was as black as sin at one point but no rain came out of it.
A pr. Mistle Thrush and a very distant Little Owl were seen from Bradshaw Lane.
A few Gull were in the Bonnet fields.
I spent a 'good' hour on Soil Hill with lots of scanning but not much appearing in my bins.
5 sightings of Kestrel at different times & places along the way.
I guess there were 2 birds present.
Not a lot to do so I counted Meadow Pipit encounters ending with a massive 8!
2 then 40+ Goldfinch made a flyby.
43 Canada Geese were seen in the distant gloom feeding near the Ogden Plantation fields.
Pheasant and 2 Moorhen on the NK pond.
A good check of the Soil Hill north end (north-south) treeline produced a big fat 0.
Lesser Black-backed Gulls passed in dribs and drabs.
Then a pleasing sight of 'Percy Road resident Ken' on his pushbike.
Homeward bound , in the gloom, on Taylor Lane 70 , 20, 10, 10 groups of large Gulls headed SE towards Queensbury Church landing 2 fields north of the Cricket Ground.
At least one was a calling Herring Gull.
A pr. Little Owl called and that was about it.
(no! the Little Owls didn't call 'that was about it' take a breath after 'called' and the sentence makes sense).
Tough do after Saturday's cornucopia of Chats at Ogden Golf Club.
Some dull photos to go with a dull blog I'm afraid.
