11:15 - 12:15
A short hour along the river today.
2 Treecreeper was a pleasant surprise in the Oak Woods by Birdcage Lane.
A Green Woodpecker called a couple of times.
Near the weir, a Heron stood guard.
A Stock Dove was here also.
In the woods, a small flock of Long Tailed Tit flitted about.
A couple that I met along the way had seen 2 pr. of Dipper and they also mentioned that Kingfisher had bred in Sowerby Bridge.
Soil Hill.
15:45 - 17:45
A short outing up to and around Soil Hill.
Little Owl, Kestrel, Heron, pr. Stock Dove.
Interesting Black Headed Duck on the NK pond - miles off!!
4 Partridge flushed.
A strange moment when I thought I'd got a Dotterel down on the shay rough ground, miles off.
I made haste to get a tad neared and nearly trod on a resting Kestrel! A second Kestrel soon joined the first.
The Dotterel morphed into a odd coloured rock!!
c12 Meadow Pipit.
