Ilkley

We took Abigail and Emma to Ilkley, for a treat, today.
With the warm sunshine smiling on us, we spent the majority of the day in the park or paddling in the river.

The river was full of dogs and folk but I did manage a short stroll along the riverbank and got a few pics.

Birds:-

2 Grey Wagtail, 3 Juv. Goosander, Moorhen.
Mandarin Duck - looked to be 6 ducklings with an adult Female bird and 2 more adult Female birds elsewhere.

Black Headed Gulls were plentiful.

A Sparrowhawk flew over as I returned to the Riverside Inn area.

I also spotted some Hazlenuts (not ready to eat yet).

On the return journey a second Sparrowhawk was seen on Ilkley Moor, and on the new Sowerby Bridge - Wakefield Road bypass, a Heron was on a factory roof.

Juv.Goosander with that smile.
