Ogden - Very Wet

15:00 - 16:00 (ish).

A circuit of Ogden Water this afternoon in heavy rain.
Quite surprised with the number of cars in the car park, I thought it would be vey quiet today.

On Days like today, I always think that something good will drop in - justifies getting wet through - but seldom does the Mega appear.
Today fit well into the norm - not a lot happening.

It was still an enjoyable outing after reading Horrid Henry and Dr. De Soto with Abigail this morning.

Horried Henry never wins at football - don't know why he bothers!
(Actually, If I'm honest - some of the this children's stuff is better than the paperback thrillers that I'm reading at the moment.)

anyway....

Birds:-

2 Cormorant.
Little Grebe.
Lesser Black Backed Gull.
Black Headed Gull.
7 or so Common Gull.
c10 Chaffinch left the weedy shoreline for the bushes.
A good Autumn / Winter omen for Brambling - like a few years back.

With such a lot of shoreline this year, at Ogden, as so few Waders, I think that I will have to be very fortunate with my timing to get anything of note.
The rarer birds seem to arrive but soon depart!
But Whooper Swans have made some good appearance in past winters, so it is too soon to write the place off completely.
