Blackmoorfoot Reservoir (Huddersfield)

We have been visiting Huddersfield Royal Infirmary,on and off, for a few weeks now to see Sue's dad who is very poorly at present.

After todays' visit, we added anther 5 miles or so to our trip, to have a walk and a look at Blackmoorfoot Res. near Huddersfield.

A gale was blowing across the water but the walk by the intake stream and through the woods was very pleasant indeed.

My first time here and it really is a picturesque place.

We had a  really lousy journey home, late P.M. but it was a worthwhile trip.

Birds:

The gull population of c100 birds, was too distant to check for anything special.

Tufted Duck 3m 1f.
1 Teal, 1 Pochard, 1 Great Crested Grebe.
4 Pied Wagtail, 3 Bullfinch.
At least 4 Jay.
6 Lapwing.
2 Moorhen, c20 Fieldfare.
6 Blackbird, Heron and a few others.

An enjoyable blowy outing.
