Soil Hill

17:10 - 18:00

Abigail and Emma to entertain as usual on a Saturday but I managed a short hour, very late, up to Soil Hill.
Cool and breezy on the top, but not a lot about so late on.

A few Gulls over, going to roost.

A bird flushed from the West side of the Hill. No call, and it kept low. No photo, alas but I would say it was a Skylark.
A bit late in the Autumn to see Skylark up here?

The Lapwing and Gulls in the lower Shay fields were only just discernible, but I think that  2 of lighter coloured 'silhouettes' were a couple of Golden Plover.

Another conundrum, 7 largish Thrushes on the telephone lines.
Again these were very distant and hard to see in the gloom.
Possibly Mistle Thrush and Fieldfare? Not sure.

A single Mistle Thrush (for definite) was on a pylon seen from Bradshaw Lane.

A bit of a boring blog... but I've big ideas for tomorrow.

Some photos that match the blog:-
