Bradshaw to Ringby Top (and back)

10:20 - 13:45

A good leg stretcher today, hoping for some improvement for my 2018 birding record!

The weather started off quiet nice with a bit of sunshine but things soon went downhill with clouds gathering and then the dreaded light drizzle turned heavier and unpleasant for the last quarter of the walk.

Birds:-

Holdsworth area copse held 2 Bullfinch.
Some very, very skittish Redwing that were in the treetops soon left.

Ringby Top held the usual Corvid population with Common Gull, Black Headed Gull and Lesser Black Backed Gull and a few Meadow Pipits - disappointing.

3 Blackbird were zooming about near St. Thomas Moore school (as was).

On the return leg there were c30 Redwing / Fieldfare near Holdsworth House.
They came out of the gloom in ones and threes to land miles off in the trees.
A Mistle Thrush was seen a bit further along the Calderdale Way.

4 Moorhen were in the fields near the farm pond by Bradshaw park.

A few pics - mostly Common Gulls!!
