A Drive over to Ogden this aft. with the light rapidly fading, on a grotty November day.
I just did a circuit of the water, but I did located a few birds to keep me interested on the way around.
Earlier, Sue and I made a visit to Lister Lane War Cemetery where the Mayor of Halifax was unveiling a commemorative Poppy display.
4,000 poppies have been knitted by various ladies groups in Halifax.
Sue was part of the Beechwood Road History Group who knitted a good number of them.
While I was there, a Raptor flew over.
I think It is a Peregrine but not 100% sure.
(18:00 no - it's a Sparrowhawk!..).
(Raptors!!!!).
Ogden Birds:
I thought I'd got myself a Mega with a Firecrest but alas the bird is a Goldcrest, I cannot see any white eye stripe.
Others:
6 or so Long Tailed Tits.
c36 Gulls.
Coal Tits and Goldcrest that were zipping about low in the bushes, were difficult to photo.
Of a good number of photos, I'm quite chuffed with getting the Coal Tit obscured by a branch!
The Goldfinch flock were coming into the roosting tree near the car park as I left.
c30 birds - could not seen any Siskin in among them.
Not a bad outing really.
Well done Sue and company, a great tribute.
