Coach Road, Local Jaunt and Halifax Town

Coach Road Area.

9:40 - 12:00

Sunny and cold this morning.
A short stroll down Coach Road and along to Sefton Avenue hoping for a Lesser Pecker (again) but no joy.

Birds:

The usual crew knocking about for this area.

Lots of Nuthatch, Bullfinch, Blue and Great Tit.
A few Long Tailed Tit.
Coal Tit, Mistle Thrush.
2 Great Spotted Woodpecker were the birds of the outing.

Lots of bird calls - Great Tit and Nuthatch seem to have many different calls to confuse me.

Local Stroll:

13:00 - 14:00

Trying to get some height, to see if I got lucky with moving Pinkies, I took a stroll up Taylor Lane, along Percy Road and back down Bradshaw Lane.
The moors beyond Bingley were ablaze.

Birds:-

13 Lapwing, 2 Little Owl, Stock Dove.
A real Dapper of a Pied Wagtail on the Taylor Lane midden.
Gulls over in ones and twos with a few small Gulls feeding in the fields was about it.

Halifax:

Late afternoon, and Sue had to call at Dunelm.
Given the choice of Dunelm shopping or The Range Car Park - I chose the Car Park.

I had quick look around Range Car Park and down by the Police Station entrance.

Lots of Blackbird and Redwing in a big, berried tree outside the Police Station entrance on Letsbe Avenue, but I didn't clock any Waxwing this time out.

Going by the Calderdale grapevine today, these Waxwings sure know how to shop.
They been seen near M&S, Sainsbury's, Dunelm and the Range!
