Jay House Lane & Coach Road

Jay House Lane:

A windy outing.

I had a drive down to Jay House Lane, late morning to see if I could get an early Curlew (DF) tick but failed!

On my return there had been a serious accident near the "Right Turners give way..." sign with many ambulances and police cars in attendance.
The Road at Baliff Bridge Traffic Lights was closed to traffic going east - towards Clifton.

There was a very large Lapwing flock but unfortunately they were in the fields further north of me - too distant to see really.

There looks to be c10 Goldies in one of my photos.

A look for Tree Sparrow did eventually come up trumps but the birds were extremely mobile.
I took some distant photos of the birds on the feeders, not wanting to disturb them - although they seemed oblivious to the passing cars!
It was difficult to tell how many birds there were, c6 was my estimate.

I had a walk down Jay House Lane to the pond near the bottom.
A Heron was in a Garden and a Nuthatch gave me the run around for a while.

Back at the top of the Lane, Goldfinch were with the Tree Sparrow and there were 6 or so Mistle Thrush, 5 Coot on the Golf Course with a few other sp.

Coach Road:

I called at Coach Road on the way home.
It was unusually quite here today - no Woodpecker seen or heard.

Song Thrush, c6 Nuthatch a Greenfinch and a few other sp.
was about it.

Jay House Lane:-

The light behind the bushes was awful.

This photo looks to have c10 Goldies in it!?
(Hope I'm right!)
