March 2019- Carsington Water.
(Between Ashborne and

First
time here and what a fantastic place.
Large
expanse of water with 2 or 3 islands.
An 8
mile cycle / Footpath all the way around the water.
(Not a good idea to leave your rucksack (on the way around the compete circuit) after stopping in a bird hide -
then remembering that you aint got owt on your back ………. very much later! - The rucksack was still there on our return. Sue is very understanding because she is so much younger and nowhere near as forgetful as me - yet!!)

Great
Cafe and a restaurant with visitor centre shops.
Plenty
of wildfowl, some very distant.
A
G.N.D. Was reported earlier in the week, here, but we did not eyeball
it today.
There
is such a vast expanse of water that the bird could still be here
though.
